Mr. KBN De Silva

I am a passionate and dedicated criminologist with a First-Class Honors degree in Criminology and over four years of combined academic experience as a lecturer and researcher. My work as a lecturer focuses on key topics such as criminology, victimology, and conflict resolution, where I strive to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. With a strong commitment to education, I prioritize helping students understand complex ideas and encouraging critical thinking. In addition to teaching, I have contributed to academic research in various areas, including crime prevention, the impact of environmental factors (social, natural, and built) on criminal behavior, fear of crime, media consumption, and its relationship to crime, and the role of biological evidence in criminal investigations. My research also extends to the study of workplace harassment and its societal impact, drug usage trends among youth, and the role of social media in academic performance. My ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, both in writing and in the classroom, is one of my strengths. Through my research and teaching, I am dedicated to advancing the field of criminology and supporting students in their academic journeys.
